I knelt to pray but not for long, I had too much to do.
ฉันคุกเข่าลงแต่ไม่นานนัก ฉันมีหลายอย่างที่จะ่ต้องทำ
I had to hurry and
get to work For bills would soon be due.
ฉันจะต้องรีบเร่งไปทำงานเพื่อใบเสร็จอีกหลายใบที่้ถึงกำหนดจ่าย
So I knelt
and said a hurried prayer,
ดังนั้นฉันคุกเข่าลงและอธิษฐานอย่างรีบเร่ง
And
jumped up off my knees
และรีบๆลุกขึ้นมา
My Christian duty was now done
ตอนนี้ฉันได้ทำหน้าที่คริสเตียนเสร็จแล้ว
My soul could rest at ease.
จิตใจของฉันควรได้พักสักครู่
All day long I had no time
ตลอดวันฉันไม่มีเวลาเลย
To spread a word of cheer. No time to speak of
Christ to friends,
ไม่มีเวลาที่จะพูดถึงเรื่องพระคริสต์กับเพื่อนๆ
หรือให้ถ้อยคำแห่งกำลังใจ
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
ฉันกลัวพวกเขาจะหัวเราะฉัน
No time, no time, too much to do,
"ไม่มีเวลา ไม่มีเวลา ยุ่งมาก"
That was my constant cry,
นั่นเป็นเสียงร้องเป็นประจำของฉัน
No time to give to souls in need
ไม่มีเวลาให้แก่จิตใจที่หิวกระหาย
But at last the time, the time to die.
แต่เมื่อเวลาสุดท้าย เวลาแห่งความตาย
I went before the Lord,! ! I came, I
stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the
book of life.
ฉันอยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระเจ้า
ฉันเข้าไปและยืนด้วยสายตาที่เศร้าสร้อย
พระองค์ทรงถือหนังสือเล่มหนึ่งอยู่ในพระหัตถ์
มันคือหนังสือแห่งชีวิต
God
looked into his book and said
พระเจ้าทรงทอดพระเนตรในหนังสือเล่มนั้น
และตรัสว่า
'Your name I cannot find.
เราไม่พบชื่อของเจ้า
I once was
going to write it down...
ครั้งหนึ่งเรากำลังจะเขียนมันลงไป
But never
found the time'
แต่ไม่เคยมีเวลาเลย
